4 Weird Things I Do to Have Young, Glowy Skin at 41
Let’s be honest: aging is… weird.
One minute your skin is glowing with zero effort, and the next it’s like... dull, dry, and tired no matter what miracle product you slather on.
But here’s the thing — great skin over 40 isn’t about doing more… it’s about doing things differently.
I’m 41, and most people are shocked when they find out. I’ve even had strangers ask what kind of facials I get done (spoiler: nothing!).
But I do have a few habits that I swear are my secret weapons.
Here are 4 weird things I do to keep my skin clear, glowy, and youthful — no expensive creams required:
1. I Put Salt in My Water Every Morning
Yes — salt. But not just table salt.
Every morning, I add a pinch of high-quality sea salt or Himalayan salt to my water. Why? Because it helps replenish minerals, support hydration on a cellular level, and balance electrolytes. When your skin cells are hydrated from the inside out, they look plumper, juicier, and more radiant.
Dry, dull skin? It might not be about moisturizers — it could be your water not absorbing properly.

2. I Jump Up and Down in the Morning (Lymph Love!)
It looks ridiculous. My kids laugh. But I do it anyway.
A few minutes of bouncing, light jumping, or rebounding in the morning gets my lymphatic system flowing — and that’s key for skin clarity.
Why? Because your lymph system is what helps your body detox. If it's stagnant, toxins can show up in your skin as breakouts, puffiness, or dullness.
Plus, jumping gives you a natural flush and glow that no highlighter can replicate.
3. I Don’t Wash My Face in the Morning (Yes, Really!)
This goes against everything we were taught in our 20s, but skipping a morning face wash was a game changer for my skin.
Why? Because overnight, your skin produces its own natural oils that are incredibly nourishing and protective. Washing them off first thing in the morning can actually dry you out and disrupt your barrier — especially as we age and our skin gets more sensitive.
Instead, I splash with cold water and go right into serums and SPF.
4. I Sweat on Purpose (and Not Just from Workouts)
Sweating isn’t just good for your body — it’s a secret skin detox tool.
It pushes out impurities, clears out clogged pores, and leaves you with that post-hot yoga glow — even if you didn’t do hot yoga.
I try to sweat at least 3–4 times a week, whether that’s a brisk walk, sauna, or a quick home workout. It keeps my skin clear, bright, and alive.
The Bottom Line
You don’t have to chase youth — just take care of your skin in a smarter, more intuitive way.
At 41, these little habits help me feel more radiant than I did in my 20s — not because I’m doing more, but because I’m doing things that actually support my skin from the inside out.
